- New 2,800 m2 building for cleanroom moulding & assembly
- Investment: EUR 5.6 million
- Focus on carbon footprint reduction
UK-based Sovrin Plastics, the provider of injection moulding and contract manufacturing services for the supply of precision plastic components to the medical, electronics and engineering industries, has signed an agreement for the construction of a new 2,800 m2 (30,000 ft2) building to house its Tooling, Class 8 and GMP cleanroom moulding and assembly divisions.
The new, state of the art facility represents a EUR 5.6 million (£4.5 million) investment and will feature some of the latest injection moulding, automation and material handling technology. The company has designed the new manufacturing site to improve utilisation and efficiency whilst significantly reducing its carbon footprint.
Construction is underway on a brownfield site, close to their existing manufacturing sites which will ease the transfer into the new building to be completed by the end of 2015. The current Class 7 cleanroom moulding, micromoulding, assembly and medical device manufacturing facility which neighbours the new building will be retained.
