One highlight at the Feddem trade show stand was the new FED 43 MTS with a 43mm screw diameter. This parallel twin screw extruder is suited for the production of small to mid-sized batches – engineering plastics, high-performance polymers, masterbatches and the like. As with all other Feddem MTS models, a wide selection of equipment options and accessories are available. Depending on the job at hand, the screw units and housings are available in various grades of steel – from nitrided steel to special hot isostatic pressing (HIP) alloys. In addition to the gentle compounding process the company focused also on the flexibility of their turnkey lines. With minimal effort, these machines can be configured to meet a wide range of customer requirements (such as elongation for process unit, individually tailored side-feeding/side-degassing solutions and more).
