Zumbach Electronic: In-line measurement technology in extrusion processes

224

Zumbach Electronic will show its ultrasonic Wallmaster and Wallstarter systems for wall thickness and diameter measurement of tubes and hoses. The Wallstarter is said to be an economic processor solution for eccentricity and wall thickness measurement for single layer plastic tubes and hoses.

The company also provides complete measurement solutions for profile extrusion: complete profile cross sections including withdrawn dimensions, radii, among others can be measured and displayed with the In-line profile cross section measurement system Profilemaster by applying light sectioning technology (laser and CCDs).

Also on display will be the Umac RZ and Z scanners. Newly designed (patent pending), the transducers can be synchronously adjusted to the best possible measuring position within seconds. The scanner covers an outside diameter up to 180 mm (7 in.) and represent a smart and simple solution for fully non-contact, in-line wall thickness measurement of cable jackets, tube and hose. Umac R scanners featuring up to 8 measuring points and bigger diameters (up to 450mm) will also be exhibited.

With the MSD diameter gauges, the company introduces a new series of measuring heads for on-line diameter and ovality measurement and control for applications in the plastics and cable industries. The new laser based diameter Dual and Triple Axis Odac Diameter and Ovality Gauges can be employed for high precision measurement of tubes and hoses. A selection of standard and new models with special laser beam geometry, fault detection function and high scan rate will be on show.

The new three-axis surface fault detector KW 33Trio and the in-line surface quality inspection Simac 63, a surface inspection system using image processing. This system was designed for practically all tubes, hoses and other quality products made of plastic, rubber and other materials.
