  • Complete pipe extrusion plant for 220 kg/h CPVC
  • Commissioning in record time
  • Main features: low power consumption & ability to process a wide range of raw materials

The joint venture company Rajoo Bausano has installed a CPVC pipe plant at Rajendra Industries in Rajkot. Rajendra is a leading manufacturer of UPVC and CPVC plumbing pipes and fittings under the well-known ‘KAIZEN’ brand. The twin screw CPVC pipe plant was commissioned in a record time of 24 hours, according to Rajoo Bausano.

Processing of CPVC poses challenges for machinery manufacturers

CPVC is the material of choice for many pipe manufacturers. However, it is more difficult to process than UPVC. This poses challenges for machinery manufacturers in terms of machine performance, life and maintenance. To ensure flexibility in using a wide range of different raw material compounds, the plant at Rajendra Industries is equipped with a 30 L/D extruder with special screw design for high throughput and features the patented transmission system ‘Multidrive’ which eliminates torsional stress resulting in longer life of gearbox and screw. Other features of the production line include silicone oil circulation to control the screw temperature, load cell-based back pressure for the testing of various CPVC compounds, two vacuum chambers and an extended length calibrator for higher line speeds.

Low power consumption & ability to process a wide range of raw material compounds

“As we evaluated various manufacturers of CPVC pipe plants, the relatively minimal power consumption and flexibility to process a range of raw material compounds, was one of the key attributes in favour of Rajoo Bausano solution.” says Jaydeep Patel, Director of Rajendra Industries.

The joint venture between Bausano & Figli SpA and Rajoo Engineers Ltd. was formed in 2010 to manufacture and market pipe and profile extrusion lines, including wood composite profiles in India.
