- Internal cooling reduces sagging
- Extruder for up to 2,200 kg/h
- Die with two-step distribution concept
Tien Phong Plastic Joint Stock Company based in Haiphong will be the first pipe manufacturer in Vietnam able to produce large PE pipes with diameters of up to 2,000 mm. The company has ordered a complete pipe extrusion line from Battenfeld-Cincinnati, which is scheduled to be delivered beginning of 2015. In the year 2011 already, Tien Phong purchased a turn-key PE pipe extrusion line with a die using internal cooling system. Due to the good experience, the customer chose the same die concept again.
The recently ordered line for the production of pipes with dimensions ranging from 630 to 2,000 mm consists of a solEX single screw extruder and a helix VSI-T+ pipe die. The line also features an EAC drying system which uses heated air from the internal pipe cooling in the die to dry raw material in order to save energy. The solEX 120 single screw extruder with a processing length of 40 D is suited for the production of HDPE and PP pipes and has a maximum output of 2,200 kg/h.
In addition to the internal cooling system, the helix 2000 VSI-T+ pipe die features a two-step distribution concept consisting of a spiral mandrel distributor and a lattice basket, which ensures best possible distribution, homogenization and high throughput with low pressure build-up. This cooling system reduces sagging, which is of great importance especially when producing thick-walled pipes. At the same time, the efficient cooling system allows significant shortening of the complete line.
The state-owned company Tien Phong is one of the leading Vietnamese producers of pipes and fittings made of PVC-U, HDPE and PP-R. The company already operates several lines from Battenfeld-cincinnati.
