Borealis: LDPE homopolymer for extrusion coating industry

1457

Borealis announced the launch of a new low density polyethylene (LDPE) homopolymer produced with high pressure tubular technology. As a solution for extrusion coating products, CT7200 aims to help the industry address the issue of end-of-life autoclave plants. Its high zero shear viscosity contributes to improved sealing performance. Improved flowability is said to enhance the adhesion to various substrates, even at lower processing temperatures. Reduced energy consumption (motor load) at the same output rates, made possible by high shear thinning, is said to result in improved sustainability.

Good optical properties and low gel level broaden the possibilities of using this product in various flexible packaging applications. CT7200 is suited for applications involving high-volume extrusion coating of boards and papers, liquid packaging, extrusion coating and lamination of different substrates and co-extrusion in multi-structures.
