Rehau invests in the expansion of its automotive location Cullman, US state Alabama, with the construction of a technical center. A new building, where 45 engineers will be employed in future, is supposed to be built on a area of around 1100 square meters in the immediate vicinity of the production plant. Logistics, production, painting and injection moulding departments are supposed to be brought together under one roof. The ground will be broken in spring 2014. The total investment amounts to approximately 20 million Euros.
It is the first technical center the global polymer processor builds on North American soil modelled on German centres. Such a competence center was already built in Feuchtwangen, the group of company’s largest site, in 1996, which the company now wants to transfer to the production in Alabama.
