Kubota introduces new gravimetric loss in weight feeder design

At the recent InterPlas 2014 in Bangkok, the company Kubota introduced the new NX series of gravimetric loss in weight feeders and showcased the models NX-S50 (single screw) and NX-T26 (twin screw).

The two main features of the new NX feeders are a diagonal agitator for a high feeding accuracy and a negative wall angle design that avoids possible bridging of the material. The combination of diagonal agitator and negative wall angle provides a smooth flow of material into the screw(s), either single screw or twin-screw, and thus improve the feeding performance. In addition, AC servo drives with a wide control range of 1:3000 are employed, compared to DC motors (1:100) or inverter motors (1:20) which are commonly used in the market. The digital load cell features a high resolution of 4 million cnt. Various materials and flow ranges can be covered by changing screws and tubes: 20 different combination are possible by combining 14 sets of screws and 3 sets of tubes. While the NX-S50 on display has a capacity of 2-300 l/h, another model X-S90 features a throughput of 50-2,000 l/h.

Beside the new NX feeders, the company also showcased the pellet screening system SUPER Platon, the twin screw loss in weight feeder CE-W-1D, the central control terminal KD-T3000 and a liquid filling machine.
