Dynamically stressed casing components in the automotive industry need outstanding mechanical properties. High burst
pressure strength is essential to withstand alternating stresses. Good chemical resistance against corrosive media is also required. To address these requirements, Evonik has introduced a new glass-fiber reinforced molding compound based on polyphthalamide (PPA).

High impact strength and good flow behavior

The semi-crystalline, polyphthalamide-based material Vestamid HTplus M1035 P1 is resistant to high temperatures, features high impact strength and good flow behavior during processing. As a result, the surface of the injection-molded parts tends to be smoother and defects-free, according to the company.
